Sheraton Santa Maria de El Paular - Rascafria - Places of Interest
Former coaching inn: Situated in the Plaza de la Villa, founded in 1726. In addition to numerous agricultural buildings and rural housing units scattered throughout the urban area, a product of the traditional architectural types in the area, there are the various buildings and sites of interest.
City Hall: Dates from the early twentieth century and was renovated in 1984. The Town Hall is designed in neo-Mudejar style and is located in the Plaza de la Villa.
Parish Church of San Andrés the Apostle: Dates from the fifteenth century, with restorations in 1950-1952 and 1987-1988. It is located at the north end of town and retains some Gothic vaults and sixteenth century coffered ceilings in the central nave. Its pulpit is Plateresque and boasts several sculptures from El Paular, such as an eighteenth century St. Michael the Archangel, by Luis Salvador Carmona.
La Casona: From the fourteenth century, it is located near the Church. It was raised at the time of construction of El Paular and was primarily a "Lazareto" or "Old Hospital. It is a set of two-story buildings, orchard and garden.
Belgian Sawmills: Belonging to the Sociedad Belga de Pinares, it was founded in 1840.
