Monastery
Santa Maria de El Paular Monastery was the first Monastery in Castile, founded in 1390 by Juan I, finished in 1442 by Juan II. Since 1954 a small Benedictine Community has lived in the Monastery, the members of which take charge of the maintenance and proudly preserve the beauty of this religious landmark in Madrid. The monks happily welcome visitors.
